My Proposal If I said this was my happiest day It would be understatement of the year If they told me I would lose you That would be my biggest fear Cause if I could chose any girl in the world I'd still be choosing you I couldn't wish for any more All my dreams are coming true My life has found new meaning And it's to you Denise I'm appealing To join me as my wife Together we'll share this life In love in happiness It's where I want to be Married to my sweetheart For the rest of eternity Note This was the first poem I ever did to order. Julie my big sis asked me to write a poem that was to be read out at the start of Richard's (my brother) wedding. I thought it would be easy but actually found it quite hard. On completion I tried to ring Julie to ask if it was ok. As it was I couldn't get hold of her so asked a friend Becky who works at the bar where I was dj'ing - which is where I was when I wrote it. Her reaction was "Aaar Rob I think I am going to cry" and her friends reaction was "you haven't wrote that you've copied it from a book". That told me two things - one it was nice and emotional enough for Becky to say that - and also good enough to impress a stranger enough to think I had copied it. So I have left it exactly as I wrote it that night.
